International award-winning Artist Martin Lever lived, studied and worked in Hong Kong on and off for nearly 40 years before relocating to North Yorkshire in 2022. One of the biggest inspirations in his life is the unique Asian city he was lucky to call home. And he’s now embracing a new muse - the dramatic environment surrounding his home in Marrick in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. His abstract sculpture is bold and symbolic and driven by a belief that what the eye doesn’t see the mind fills in. He allows natural organic shapes to influence form. Simplicity and minimalism guide his process – resulting in characterful creations that that are never literal representations, but rather more suggestive celebrations of energy and movement. His contemporary artwork has been exhibited in a number of solo shows in Hong Kong, the UK and the Middle East. His work adorns the homes of private collectors, and commissioned pieces can be seen in corporate lobbies from Estee Lauder to Wharf Group, from the McKinsey corporation to Patton Boggs Law. His work has won countless awards for creativity in a host of international shows.
